About the Course

As assets and processes grow more complex, well-written procedures become essential to safety, quality, and reliability. This course provides a complete toolkit: from identifying user needs and regulatory drivers to designing a procedure architecture (sections, layouts, RASCI) and building a controlled repository with traceable revisions and distribution.
You’ll practice efficient content development using OEM manuals, SME interviews, and field validation; write concise, measurable steps; and connect procedures to work orders and job plans in your CMMS. We’ll also cover readability, human factors, and visual aids so procedures are not just compliant—but actually used.

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of documented procedures and documented information.
- Identify safety, environmental, and quality requirements that drive content.
- Design a fit-for-purpose procedure management and governance system.
- Write clear, concise maintenance and operating procedures with quantified limits.
- Conduct user needs analysis and content research (OEMs, SMEs, authorities).
- Apply templates, styles, and tools to improve writing efficiency and consistency.
- Control document lifecycle: review/approval, versioning, distribution, and access.
- Link procedures to CMMS work orders, job plans, and training.
- Measure usage and effectiveness; update and improve based on feedback.

Who Should Attend

- Maintenance & Operations Team Leaders / Supervisors
- Maintenance Planners & Reliability Engineers
- Process / Production Engineers & Controllers
