About the Course
“Maintenance technology” today is as much strategy and data as tools and sensors. This course reframes maintenance as an asset management discipline that balances risk, cost, and performance. You will challenge traditional approaches, quantify trade-offs with cost/benefit thinking, and apply risk-based maintenance to select the right tasks for the right failure modes.
We’ll move from theory to practice with structured RCA, process audits, benchmarking, and decision-support techniques that improve planning & control. You’ll finish with a measured action plan—aligned to corporate objectives and ISO 55000 governance—that integrates modern technologies, defines accountabilities, and tracks benefits with KPIs.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply modern maintenance technologies and methodologies efficiently to boost ROI.
- Explain how PAS 55 / ISO 55000 drive a business-like approach to asset decisions.
- Use cost/benefit and risk trade-offs to set optimal maintenance spending.
- Implement a seven-step Risk-Based Maintenance (RBM) methodology.
- Select preventive/predictive tasks matched to deterioration and failure modes.
- Execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate repeat failures.
- Conduct audits/assessments and interpret benchmarking to close gaps.
- Use decision-support tools to prioritize work and portfolios transparently.
- Build a strategic implementation plan with KPIs and benefit tracking.
