Shutdown Command Approaches: Strategic Turnaround Management

Shutdowns and turnarounds are high-stakes, multidisciplinary events. This course provides a repeatable framework that connects business goals to STO outcomes: clear roles and organization, rigorous risk management, disciplined scope creation and freeze, and planning standards that produce executable work packs.
You will practice CPM scheduling with resource smoothing/balancing, set realistic budgets and contingencies, and establish dashboards that track progress and productivity. We’ll cover contractor strategies, daily control rooms, and handling emergent work without losing the critical path.
Finally, you’ll integrate QA/HSE into every phase, prepare equipment for safe handover, and run structured closeouts—capturing lessons, benchmarking performance, and improving readiness for the next event.
