Sector:
Oil & Gas – Upstream/Production
Technical Focus Area:
Reservoir & Laboratory Analysis (RES/LAB)
About the Course
This course provides a detailed examination of the properties, characterization, and phase behavior of oil and gas reservoir fluids, with direct applications to exploration, production, and reservoir management. It covers the fundamentals of fluid classification, sampling, and laboratory PVT (Pressure-Volume-Temperature) analysis, followed by an in-depth discussion of phase diagrams, critical points, and reservoir fluid modeling. Participants will explore how fluid behavior influences well performance, recovery mechanisms, and surface processing requirements. The course emphasizes practical interpretation of PVT data for use in material balance calculations, reservoir simulation, and production optimization. Special focus is given to black oils, volatile oils, gas condensates, and wet/dry gases, along with EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) applications. Real-world case studies will demonstrate how understanding phase behavior can lead to better development strategies, improved recovery factors, and more efficient facility design. This training equips professionals with the skills needed to integrate fluid behavior knowledge into field development plans, maximizing economic returns while mitigating operational risks.
